Imagine would be the first band that Jeff was to form after the demise of Peel's electric Lower East Side Band. Imagine was in fact what was left from the electric PEEL tour in mid 1975. It would also be Jeff's debut - in a matter of terms that is, composing and performing his own music. Jeff says "Imagine wasn't a great band - Hell, we probably weren't good at all, but it gave me the opportunity to expand as a musician".

Imagine based themselves outside Tampa Bay in 1975 and worked the area for about two years. There was still a working relationship with Apple artist David Peel and in the end, Imagine was to back up Peel on his last U.S. Electric Tour in 1975.

The band spawned a single during Jeff's duration with the band and had planned on an Lp release, but as things go, Jeff left the band in 1977.

Imagine did go on to release another single, as well as a couple of albums after Jeff left, but they never really seemed to make a dent in the music scene. Jeff says "playing Tampa in those days meant playing Elvin Bishop. It just wasn't the right place to be creative and survive. Imagine was a step in the right direction for me though. They stole a few of my songs for their lackluster albums - thank god the songs they took were, in my opinion... shit. It's sad sometimes, in how your worst songs, can become someone elses great ones".
